BLUES & TWOS
Dedicated to the Memory of Eddie Gentles 1945 - 2012, A Husband, A Father and A Friend to Many. May He Rest In Peace

This website was established in 2005 by Eddie Gentles. Since then, up to his very untimely passing, Eddie worked tirelessly building, improving and updating the site. Eddie loved, and was very proud of the website and the success it became. It was Eddie's expressed wish that, should anything happen to him, blues-twos.com should live on and go from strength to strength. We never imagined that day would arrive so soon and we are all shocked and deeply saddened by Eddie's sudden passing. To respect Eddie's wishes, and those of his family, and to honour his memory, we will do our best to continue to grow the website. This will only be possible with the continued support and help of all who have contributed to the site since day one. We have set up a new email address to contact the site and our choice of address reflects that this will always be Eddie's website, we're just looking after it for him. We look forward to your continued support and we thank you for your visit.
David & Eamon.

"The original site covering ALL Ireland"
March 22nd 2015
It has come to our attention that a person recently sought access to a fireground using an ID card claiming to represent this website. We wish to make it clear that this person is in NO way connected to www.blues-twos.com and any ID card they may have is entirely fake.
As administrators we are the only two people entitled to say we represent this website. We take this misrepresentation of our good names and that of our website very seriously and request that should this occur again that the fire crew / O.I.C. contact us directly on our email address firstname.lastname@example.org

Where am I?
Obvious question maybe, but if you call the fire service will they be able to find you quickly? Especially if you're in a rural area, directions need to be clear and understandable. Depending on what county you are in, the control centre you're talking to could be in CASTLEBAR, LIMERICK or DUBLIN, so they may not be familiar with local landmarks.
Is your smoke alarm working? If a fire was to start tonight, will it warn you?
It takes about 20 seconds to test it, just get a sweeping brush handle and press the test button.
Not a whole lot of effort considering it could save you and your families life.

Message from the Webmasters
"The Team" - (L) Eamon Doyle & (R) David Lennox pictured with Nicholas Bejger (C).
THANK YOU everyone... Over 600,000 'hits' - and the site is STILL growing. We are amazed at the Worldwide interest which is shown in it.
Without YOU, our visitors, this would not have been possible.
Despite the 'recession' there are several NEW appliances STILL in the pipeline and we hope, with your assistance, to bring photographs of these to you as they come 'on the run'.
We also wish to thank everyone who contributed to the site over the last number of years and hope that this will continue, UPDATED fleet listings are ALWAYS welcome.....even news on ONE new appliance in YOUR area would be a great help.
Information on Drill/Practice nights in ALL areas and actual addresses of fire stations would also be appreciated.
ANY photo's used on the site will be credited with the name of the sender (Anonimity WILL be respected of course).
Thanks again everyone
Eamon (Doyle) & David (Lennox)
